What is the process for Boomer’s Legacy projects? +
The following steps outline the complete process for initiating, approving, and closing Boomer’s Legacy local community projects.

Step 1: Submit Project Proposal
The Project Initiator must complete the application form and submit it to their Unit Commanding Officer (CO) no later than 15 business days before the event. If this timeline cannot be met, provide clear justification for the delay.

Step 2: Initial Review
The Unit CO reviews the application for completeness.

Step 3: Staff Validation
The Unit CO engages relevant specialist advisors for validation. Some Bases/Wings have established a local committee for this purpose. Any questions arising from this review will be communicated to the Project Initiator.

Step 4: Endorsement
Once all advisor recommendations are addressed, the Unit CO seeks formal endorsement from the Base/Wing Commander (B/W Cmd).

Step 5: Approval
After B/W Cmd endorsement, the proposed project is submitted to Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) for final approval.

Step 6: Notification
CFMWS notifies the Project Initiator and Unit CO of approval or non-approval. If approved, CFMWS provides the approved application, post-project report template and financial administration instructions.

The receiving organization completes all required forms provided by CFMWS to enable the transfer of funds. Expenditures must be reconciled within 30 days of project completion.

Step 8: Project Summary and Imagery
Within 30 days of project completion, the Project Initiator must submit to CFMWS and the Unit CO a public-facing report, high-quality images and participant testimonials. This content should clearly showcase CAF member involvement, as it is critical for donor reporting and to sustain future fundraising efforts.
